Has a U.S. First Lady ever “Served Time”?

Hillary meets Jarrett or Jarrett meets the HRC

A new book’s on the block: The Russia Hoax billed as “insightful analysis” and a “fact-filled narrative” delving “deeply into ‘Democrat’ wrongdoing” that, according to Harper Collins, examines:

  • How did Hillary Clinton manage to escape prosecution despite compelling evidence she violated the law?
  • Did Peter Strzok, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Loretta Lynch, and others obstruct justice by protecting Clinton?
  • Why was there never a legitimate criminal investigation of Clinton in the Uranium One case?
  • Are the text messages exchanged between Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page evidence of a concerted effort to undermine the electoral process?
  • Was there ever any real evidence of "collusion" between Trump and the Russians?
  • Did Trump obstruct justice in the firing of Comey or was he legally exercising his constitutional authority?
  • Did the FBI and DOJ improperly use a discredited "dossier" about Trump to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Trump associates?
  • Should Mueller have disqualified himself under the special counsel law based on glaring conflicts of interest?
  • Was fired National Security Adviser Michael Flynn unfairly charged with making a false statement?

The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump” is a recent release by author Gregg Jarrett purported to “reveal the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government”…; who, “driven by personal animus and a misplaced sense of political righteousness, surreptitiously acted to subvert electoral democracy in our country.”

Author Gregg Jarrett

B

orn in Los Angeles, raised in San Marino, California, a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and for several years “a defense attorney” with Gordon & Rees LLP in San Francisco, he also has been an adjunct professor at New York Law School and lecturer at other law schools; and has had a Knight Ridder/Tribune Media syndicated “weekly legal column distributed to 350 newspapers” in the United States.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Gregory Walter “Gregg” Jarrett is profiled as “an American news anchor, commentator, and attorney who has been employed by the Fox News Channel and local TV stations affiliated with NBC, ABC, PBS, and national networks Court TV and MSNBC.”

Controversy, Criticism, Coverage

O
n a spring afternoon in 2014, Jarrett was reportedly “arrested… at Northern Lights Grill in Terminal One of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.” Airport police called to the scene reported Jarrett “seemed intoxicated, acted belligerently; refused to follow their orders”; and “was booked into Hennepin County Jail, charged with interfering with a police officer.” In July 2014, Jarrett reportedly “pleaded guilty” to charges of “disorderly conduct in connection with the arrest.” After a leave of absence, Jarrett in early December 2014 returned to his position at Fox News.

The media personality has come under criticism “for letting his political beliefs color his legal commentary, sometimes changing his mind on legal issues (depending) on which political figure would be affected.”

He has reportedly “called for a grand jury for Hillary Clinton over her email controversy” and labeled “grand juries” as “an ‘undemocratic farce’” when special counsel Robert Mueller impaneled a grand jury “in the investigation into ‘Russian interference’ in the 2016 United States elections.”

J
arrett’s on-air experience besides Fox and MSNBC includes having covered “the Second Intifada in November and December 2001, reporting and anchoring newscasts from Israel, the West Bank and Gaza”; hosting court TV’s “nationally syndicated half-hour magazine show ‘Inside America’s Courts,” and “weekends on CNBC.”

On location in Los Angeles in 1995, Jarrett “was a main anchor for the O.J. Simpson murder trial”; and other major trials such as those of “the Menendez brothers, William Kennedy Smith, Jeffrey Dahmer, Rodney King, Marv Albert, and former au pair Louise Woodward.”

What of the lady in question?

Has a First Lady ever served time?
P

ossible openings for the HRC

NEW YORK awaiting reconstruction

The New York Women’s House of Detention (1932 to 1974) now closed once housed famous women: Polly Adler, Angela Davis, Dorothy Day, Ethel Rosenberg.

Maybe some of those millions poured into HRC’s campaign and foundation can construct a new and improved NYWHOD over the garden former Mayor Lindsay ordered to replace the demolished women’s prison.

The first superintendent of the historic prison, Ruth E. Collins, is said to have instituted

“a new era in penology” whose “mission was to effect the moral and social rehabilitation of the women (detainees), giving them a chance for ‘restoration as well as for punishment.’”

S
ounds like a winning prescription for the HRC; but until ground is broken; and, though it’s hard to know what state the HRC calls home, here are some operating women’s time-out facilities.

NEW YORK (Westchester County)

Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women whose infamous inmates included convicted Brinks robbers and killers Kathy Boudin and Judith Alice Clark; convicted lethal family poisoner Stacey Castor; convicted detox nurse rapist Candace Seelbinder; convicted “Long Island Lolita” shooter Amy Fisher; convicted killer of Scarsdale Diet guru Jean Harris

New York Alternatives: Albion Correctional Facility, Bayview Correctional Facility, Beacon Correctional Facility, and Taconic Correctional Facility.

MARYLAND

Neighboring Washington is Maryland’s Maryland Correctional Institution for Women (MCI-W), a multi-level security prison in Jessup.

WEST VIRGINIA

Division of the United States Department of Justice operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Federal Prison Camp, Alderson (FPC Alderson), a minimum-security United States federal prison for female inmates

NEW JERSEY HRC namesake

Formerly the Clinton Correctional Facility for Women now Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women (EMCFW), renamed for one of the first female correctional superintendents in the United States, Edna Mahan (pronounced Mann, b. 1900), located in Union Township, Hunterdon County, near Clinton.

ARKANSAS (HRC's husband was governor)

McPherson Unit is a prison for women of the Arkansas Department of Correction that “houses the state’s death row for women,” located in Newport, Arkansas.

VIRGINIA

The Virginia Correctional Center for Women, a central Virginia female-only state prison, a part of the Virginia Department of Corrections

ILLINOIS (HRC birthplace)

Logan Correctional Center, multi-level security prison for female offenders in Broadwell Township, Logan County, Illinois, near Lincoln

Without prejudice or intended offense — there’s always a first FIRST!
