MOURNING
- More than forty thousand people SLAUGHTERED
- More than one hundred thousand WOUNDED
- More than two million DISPLACED under brutal blockades.
Human beings are suffering starvation and loss of healthcare and medicines; hygiene deficits; and the rise and spread of what would be curable diseases (Palestine, West Asia).

Bold Declaration of United Nations
“WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS … HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS… (and so) DETERMINED …
- to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
- to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
- to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
- to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom
- to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors, and
- to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and
- to ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and
- to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples…. https://www.un.org/en/about-us/un-charter/full-text
Some of today's holders of inordinate power may carelessly forget.
Multitudes cannot and will NEVER forget
Armistice
An Afterthought, in My Mind’s Eye …
ARMISTICE means we lay down our arms (chemical, biological, nuclear and nonnuclear, manned and non-manned)
Henceforth we no longer present ourselves as bullies or enemies. Nor do we cavalierly or conveniently cast (scandalize or propagandize) others as our enemies.
Armistice means we stand on the principle and practice of peace. In our actions henceforth we are men and women (a nation) of discussants, communicators in words, reasoned argument, civil debate, and nonviolence in domestic and international affairs.
We commit to abolishing “our” foundations, structures, infrastructures, deployments, occupations and operations whose aims and intended or unintended consequences—well-documented in highly credible sources and history books—including:
- The breach of sovereignties, systems, quests for self-determination
- The interference with (including assassinations of) other nations, their leaders and ways of being
- The upending of foreign governments and the destruction of economies (including the US economy and the neglect of America’s people)
- The creation of “terror” cells
- The arming and division (routinely by militarist force) of cultures, peoples, regions, and relations
ARMISTICE means no longer abusive or capricious use of language but deliberately clear, clean, correct, caring and considerate use of language.
ARMISTICE means a change of heart. We become a changed people—morally and psychologically. We no longer define strength in anachronistic terms: mercenary, belligerent, barbarous terms.
ARMISTICE means we lay down our arms.
ARMISTICE means NO MORE VIOLENCE.
