A Question of Essential Regulation, due diligence without fear or favor in Service to Society
Neglect, Needless deaths of 20 New Yorkers

ederal connection
“The U.S. government “came up with the crime, provided the means, and
removed all relevant obstacles,” the judge said in handing out 25-year
sentences in the “infamous ‘Newburgh Four’ frame-up.”
The FBI “informant” had reportedly “played the central role in the “2009
arrests of the ‘Newburgh Four’” and years earlier “in the arrests of two Muslim
immigrants in Albany in a supposed terror sting.”
It seems the “informant” became an informant after having been caught
in a crime, “helping people cheat on [Department of Motor Vehicles] exams in
return for money;” had “pleaded guilty to charges”; and faced with prison and
deportation, he signed on as the FBI’s stooge or stool pigeon.
Then came vehicular crimes for which he seems to have been excused, governments
looking the other way—until 20 people died by one of his faulty vehicles on a
road in Upstate New York.

ederal and State Negligence
There are few and variable federal regulations and state regulations governing
stretch and after factory modified vehicles. In the Saturday crash, the National
Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said few seats had remained anchored to the
vehicle’s floor.
The FBI informant turned Prestige Limousine Chauffeur Service owner’s defective
and modified Ford limousine left 20 people dead on an early October evening.
The businessman reportedly owns four livery companies including the “Chauffeur
Service Saratoga, Luxury Limousine and Hasy Limousine,” all sharing an address
of “a run-down motel in the Saratoga County (New York) town of Wilton.’” (Democrat
& Chronicle) Prestige’s mailing address is said to be in Gansevoort, New
York.

he death-dealing limo company
Failed many inspections in recent years
- A month before the crash it had failed inspection
- Was on the road illegally
- Was driven by a driver without proper license
The killer limo itself had “unregulated aftermarket modifications”
The death-dealing “2001 Ford Excursion had been modified after leaving
the Ford factory to make it a stretch limo with seating for 19 passengers”
(Associated Press)
Failure passed
Vehicles owned by the FBI informant turned businessman
- Have been investigated five times in two years
- Four investigations with results ruling the vehicle unsafe
- And no apparent attempt was made to ensure vehicles road worthiness.
Two Ford limousines owned by the company failed inspections last
month.” (Democrat & Chronicle citing federal inspection records) “September inspections cited the limos for
- Defective brakes
- Lack of proper emergency exits,
- Flat or balding tires,
- Defective windshield wipers, and
- Other maintenance problems” (Associated Press)

he NTSB is still investigating the early October vehicular crime. But no investigation after the fact, not matter how thorough, will not
bring back 20 lives or ease the pain felt by families and friends as a direct
result of Federal, State, and Local officials’ gross negligence and disregard
for life.
Regulations

are necessary. They are not
designed to deny freedom but rather to ensure freedom for all.
For whatever their reasons, those who argue against essential
regulations and against proper monitoring and enforcement—up to and including impounding
non road worthy vehicles and improper or inadequate licensing—are arguing against
essential peaceful coexistence.
Opposition to essential regulation or argument for no regulation
is an argument against life and safety; against society comprised of varieties
of people who at any given time are likely to sail off on their own individual flights of
selfishness; urges, inclinations, whims or fancies that harm the whole society
or jeopardize the health and safety, the lives, the freedom of others.
