Saudis, Soros: Countered, Courted Global Influencers

Foundation (NGOs) and Military Industrial Complexes

György Schwartz or George Soros is a Central European native interfering in US (and other countries’) domestic affairs. 

His net worth is somewhere in the 20 to 40 billion dollar range, depending on the time and source. Tens of billions are squirreled in a foundation cabal, and multibillions more are used as walking around money. Mr. Soros is “hedge-fund (many times over) billionaire” who “personally sets the budget of his Open Society Foundations.” Since the 1970s, he has contributed somewhere in the neighborhood of “$12 billion to a wide array of organizations.”

Soros Gluttony, Global Reach

Soros’s Open Society Foundations comprises “a ‘network of more than 20 national and regional foundations around the world.’” The network reportedly operates on at least five continents: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin and North Americas. Soros/OSF money moves from Soros and his relatives to and through interlocking foundation entities, government agencies (UK and USA), private corporations, and sundry profiteers registered as “nonprofits.” The Soros Open Society Foundations reach and financial holdings have been projected to exceed the $43 billion- Gates Foundation; yet they take handouts: between 2000 and 2018, OSF reportedly took in “$5.4 billion” in “donations.”
Soros Interference in US elections 2022 

Large numbers of Americans are homeless, jobless, and illiterate; and the multi-billionaire do-gooder is reportedly filling a super political action committee with well over a hundred  million US dollars. 

Leading into the 2022 midterms, Soros handed out millions via a super PAC headed by his son. According to an early 2022 Politico article, Soros’s “Democracy PAC” has aided papa’s US elections influence operation since 2019; and has funneled “more than $80 million” to groups and individuals affiliated with the Democratic Party. However, this latest meddling in US elections is said to be directed toward influencing what is labeled “pro-democracy causes and candidates” regardless to which of the terrible twos (D or R) the recipient claims affiliation.

Countering Soros

Governments across Central and Eastern Europe (Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia, and Poland) have for many years blamed Soros for interference in their countries: for unrest and protests. Anti-Soros measures and rhetoric have risen in the politics of countries that include Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovakia. A former prime minister of Poland (Jarosław Kaczynski, leader of the Law and Justice Party) “accused Soros-funded organizations of advocating ‘societies without identity.’”

2017 Romania and Hungary

Romania’s ruling party (Save Romania Union (?)) claimed that anti-corruption protests were orchestrated by Soros.

The Viktor Mihály Orbán administration (in October) ordered the country’s intelligence services to investigate what it called an “empire” of Soros-backed institutions that work in Hungary.

Member of Parliament Gergely Gulyas (in November) “accused Soros of a ‘full frontal’ attack on Hungary. The minister is reported saying that George Soros had “attacked Hungary and the Hungarian government through (Soros funded) organizations…, (through) the European Parliament and (through Soros) allies in Brussels. (Soros) ‘has now entered the battle in person.’”

Saudi influence networks deploy a wide array of strategies, ranging from more traditional lobbying campaigns to extensive digital operations.

Former Member of the US House of Representatives Edward Randall “Ed” Royce reportedly gave an “impassioned” speech on the floor of the House in 2017, “defending US support for war in Yemen.” The Randall speech “was taken almost verbatim from a lobbyist’s script handed to him earlier that day by a foreign agent for Saudi Arabia.

“After leaving Congress in 2018, Royce took a job at Brownstein Hyatt, which is one of the major firms representing the Saudi government.”

Former members of Congress many of them now registered as foreign agents have “used leftover campaign money in so-called “zombie campaign” accounts to funnel political contributions to the same lawmakers they were lobbying on behalf of Saudi Arabia.”

“FARA disclosures are rife with former elected officials who’ve since entered the revolving door.” 

The Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) “is a United States law requiring persons engaged in domestic political or advocacy work on behalf of foreign interests to register with the Department of Justice and disclose their relationship, activities, and related financial compensation” (Wikipedia)

It is hard to know the full amount being funneled into US affairs, policies and government operations as the full accounting depends on Saudi agents and lobbyists’ disclosures.

Greasing hands

A cunning Saudi government has managed to convince US policy makers (or convinced politicians of lucrative kickbacks to be made for convincing the US citizenry) “that ‘support for Saudi arms sales is support for Saudi Arabia’s fighting (US imperialist) battles in the region.”

In the most recent five-year period, the United States “accounted for 39 percent of global arms exports” (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute). Forty-three percent those exports “went to the Middle East.” The largest recipient of those exports was Saudi Arabia. Among the top 10 recipients are Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Saudi-led coalition for many years (particularly in a conflict now approaching ten years) has used the lethal US export in a catastrophic war against Yemeni people that has left untold hundreds of thousands dead or suffering interminable conflict, disease and famine.

And while presidential candidate Joseph Biden promised to end support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen, President Biden callously “approved a $500 million contract for support of the helicopter fleet in September and a $650 million contract for air-to-air missiles in November.” “U.S. manufacturers make billions from federal government contracts supplying weapons to the world’s most expensive and well-armed military, and billions more selling arms abroad.”

Weapons manufactured in the US — largely bombs made by Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics — have flooded Yemen since the start of the conflict in 2015. During 2021, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics together spent $40.9 million of the defense sector’s $117 million on lobbying; and major defense contractor Boeing (some of its guidance systems reportedly have shown up in bomb strikes) spent $13.4 million on lobbying.

Never Trust a Turncoat

Brand USA: Arrogance, Brute Force, Deliberate Ignorance, Dismissive approach to Vital International Treaties, Self-inflicted Isolation

Aside from international treaties of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the US breach or disregard of treaties extends to the eighteen and nineteenth centuries with American Indian Nations (1722-1869). Though more than three hundred treaties were reported to have been signed with Native American Tribes, many were not ratified; and even more were neither respected nor observed.

In the area of international treaties, the US Brand has been described as capricious, unpredictable, partisan, or whimsically schizophrenic. By the summer of 2022, the United States was in the category of countries ratifying the least international treaties concerned with human rights. In an article by Annalisa Merelli at Quartz magazine online is this list of US failures.

The US Congress failed to ratify the 1919 World War I ending Treaty of Versailles; and failed to formally end the war against Germany and the former Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1921.

The US Senate blocked ratification of the 1949 International Labor Convention, “an international recognition of the freedom of association and protection of the right to organize.”

The US refused to sign the agreement (signed by Vietnam, France, China, the USSR, and the UK) resulting from the 1954 Conference of Geneva “called to put a final end to the Korean War and First Indochina War.” The US had participated in the conference.

The US has failed to ratify (though signed) the 1966 International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) that builds on the 1948 Eleanor Roosevelt championed Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The US Senate has failed to ratify the 1979 Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

The US has failed to ratify the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) that established a set of rules and responsibilities governing the way countries and international bodies act in international waters; and details the requirements of search and rescue at sea.

The US (the only country) has failed to ratify the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) that incorporates a wide range of rights (education, health, justice) for minors.

The US has failed to ratify (thus blocking it entering into effect) the 1996 Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty banning nuclear testing. Partners in this failure are China, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, North Korea, and Pakistan.

The US has failed to ratify the 1997 Mine-Ban Treaty (Ottawa Treaty) that aims to eliminate anti-personnel mines, prohibiting their production, stockpiling, or use. In this failure are 33 states.

The US has failed to ratify the 1998 Rome Treaty establishing an International Criminal Court (ICC) ratified by 60 nations.  

The US (one of four UN member states) has failed to ratify the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, an agreement limiting carbon emissions.

The US withdrew from the 2015 Paris Climate Accord aimed at mitigating climate change by reducing emissions.

US Aggression Forces Migration

Actual Terrorist doubly Maligns “forced” Migrants

Officials attached to successive US administrations for decades have tormented, terrorized, and destabilized peoples and countries, forced mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of people; and after having destroyed people’s homelands, cultures, countries’ manufacturing base and economies—the tormenters then demonize and disparage people they have “forced” to migrate. The terminal destabilizing forces then complain bitterly, brutally, and continuously about “forced” migrants’ attempts to enter the destroyer’s homeland, and to work for slave wages (suffering further abuse and threats of deportation) harvesting the destroyer’s food (sold back to migrants’ countries), and doing the destroyer’s dirty work: cleaning toilets, risking loss of freedom and life itself “serving” in the destroyer’s relentless acts of aggression throughout the world.

he UN office for refugees reported this past spring that refugees and migrants of various nationalities have been crossing the Darien Gap for years but recent times have seen a dramatic increase in forced migrants risking their lives traversing this perilous terrain and conditions. 

The Darien Gap marking the border between Colombia and Panama is “one of the world’s most dangerous refugee and migrant routes, consisting of 5,000 square-kilometers (5,000 square kilometers = 1,930.5108 square miles) of tropical wilderness, steep mountains, and rivers.” The crossing can take 10 days or more on a journey that exposes people not only to natural hazards; but to the deadly attack of criminals, sexual abusers, and robbers.

Notwithstanding the dangers, the pandemic era saw record numbers of people risking their lives traversing the dense jungles between South and Central America. In 2021, an estimated “133,000 people” made the trek. Among them were people and nations US officials have been strangling for years: Haitians, Chileans and Brazilians; Cubans and Venezuelans; and large numbers of people from Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and Southern Asia.

anctions kill, force people from their homelands, and kill again. 

Since the early twentieth century, US officials have been strangling other countries with “sanctions” that have included restrictions on financial instruments and affairs, restrictions on trade and economic assistance; and while the US has free and reckless rein, controls on exports of various forms of technology and weaponry (i.e., restrictions of free enterprise). In the current century, US officials have wielded sanctions amounting to acts of war.

Twenty countries, since 1998, have been subjected to US strangling “economic” sanctions. As of 2020, the US was imposing sanctions on 

North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Syria, Venezuela (country and individuals), Bangladesh, Belarus, Central African Republic, China, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Hong Kong, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar (Burma), Nicaragua, Russia, Somali, South Sudan, Turkey, Ukraine (individual citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Crimea), Yemen, Zimbabwe.

The combined US Departments of Treasury, Commerce, and State reportedly list embargoes against countries or territories of Afghanistan, Belarus, Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Crimea, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Laos, Nicaragua, North Korea, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.     

Al Jazeera reports Panamanian statistics showing that “in the first two months of 2022, approximately 2,500 Venezuelans crossed the Darien Gap.” In the whole of the previous year, “2,819” Venezuelans traversed the jungle pass. The United Nations refugee agency reported the total number of people from various countries crossing the dangerous jungle area between Colombia and Panama was “8,456 in the first two months of 2022” contrasted with “2,928 in the first two months of 2021.”

iven US and US-led relentless malicious aggression (plus a global health emergency), it is quite natural that greater and greater numbers of people would flee their homelands. US-Mexico border patrol reported that, in February of this year, the daily crossing of migrants (those they stopped) was roughly 7,000.

Press TV reported on August 12, 2022 (insult on top of injury) that US entities have detained and harassed Venezuelan passengers and crew; and commandeered a Venezuelan plane.

“The seized plane first entered Argentina on June 6 (2022) carrying auto parts from Mexico. As it was unable to refuel in Buenos Aires due to US sanctions, the plane left for Montevideo two days later. But Uruguayan authorities refused to give it access to its airspace, forcing it to fly back to Argentina. An Argentinian judge, Federico Villena, passed a judgment to detain the aircraft to investigate the crew of 14 Venezuelans and five Iranians.

“The judgment was passed on the instructions of the US, claiming that the laws were broken when the aircraft was sold by Iran’s Mahan airlines to Emtrasur, which is controlled by Conviasa.”

• 1,175 to Robyn Belinskey: a Wyoming native and businesswoman engaged in “organizing people’s homes” and lacking substantive qualifications (pertinent experience and education) related to the elective position.

laskans’ August 16, 2022, US Senate Primary VOTE: Alaska’s nonpartisan primary for the US Senate seat allowed for the first time “the top-four” in which “all candidates, regardless of party affiliation, run in a single primary election; and the  four candidates who receive the most votes advance to the general election, where the winner is decided using ranked-choice voting.”

On the ballot were candidates registered in four political parties (Republican Party 8, Democratic Party 3, Libertarian Party 1, Alaskan Independence Party 2), and five registered independents.

Influential political and government operatives in New York have denied such democratic participation and processes. One prime time Rochester area talk-show host even expressed the view that ranked-choice voting is just too complicated for voters, and only the elephant-donkey show with pals should be allowed lines on ballots.

Voters in Alaska gave 38,549 of their votes to incumbent US Senator Lisa Murkowski, 38,311of their votes to attorney Kelly Tshibaka, and the rest to seventeen other candidates.  

 Tshibaka is an Alaska native and a Harvard Law JD who has worked with State and Federal offices: Department of Administration of the State of Alaska (commissioner); US Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General and with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (special assistant); Federal Trade Commission (acting inspector general); United States Postal Service (assistant inspector general and chief data officer).

 Murkowski is a Ketchikan, Territory of Alaska, native and Willamette University College of Law (Salem, Oregon) JD who worked in public and private sectors: Member of the US Senate since 2002; and before that a member of the Alaska House of Representatives (1999-2002); a private practice attorney (1989-1996); and attorney with the Anchorage, Alaska, District Court (1987-1989).
